Who is responsible

S Evans Design is the trading name of Sophie Evans, an independent designer based in the UK. I decide what is collected on this site and I am responsible for it.

To ask about anything on this page, or to have your details removed, email hello@sophie-evans.com.

I do not collect payment details on this site. I do not buy lists, and I do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

The legal basis

UK data protection law asks for a reason for each use.

  • Contact form and free audit: you have asked me to do something, and I need your details to do it.
  • Guide downloads: legitimate interest. It is reasonable to know who has taken a guide, and you can ask to be removed at any time.
  • Emails about new guides and articles: your consent. The box is never ticked for you, and every email has a way to stop them.
  • Visitor statistics: your consent, asked for before anything is counted.

Cookies and similar

The first time you visit, a panel asks whether you will allow visitor statistics. Nothing is counted until you press Allow. If you press No thanks, Google Analytics never loads.

If you allow it, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visitor from another. They are named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, and last up to two years.

Your choice is remembered in your own browser for 180 days, then the site asks again. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page.

The site also remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. Both of these are stored in your browser and are not sent anywhere.

Who else handles your details

These companies process information for me. Each has its own privacy policy.
