Stems

Shopify store design for a yerba mate brand that already had its look sorted. Built to sell gourds, loose leaf and starter kits, and simple enough for the team to run themselves.

01The brief

Great brand. Nowhere to buy it.

The team at Stems, a UK yerba mate brand, came to me with something already gorgeous: a gaucho riding a jaguar, bold earthy depth, no hype just mate. Catalina Gotelli had built the identity and the packaging, and the brand came out of an Anglo-Argentine friendship. What it needed was an online home, somewhere the brand could actually sell.

The job was a Shopify store that sells both single products and starter kits, and is fully responsive on mobile and desktop. It also had to be user friendly enough for the team to update it themselves once I handed it over.

I customised the Shopify theme around the brand: site structure, navigation, supporting pages, and product templates for single products and starter kits. Their products, collections and content went in so the shop holds together.

After that I made the store fully responsive on mobile and tested the whole checkout before launch.

“Working with Soph was genuinely a great experience. She’s incredibly proactive, organized, and an incredible designer. She truly held our hand through the whole process and made web design feel easy. Couldn’t recommend her more!”

03The outcome

Ready to open, easy to run.

The team runs the Shopify store themselves. Single products and starter kits sell through the same templates, and the checkout was tested to the last step before anything went live.

  • Shopify theme setup and configuration
  • Site structure, navigation and supporting pages
  • Product templates for single products and starter kits
  • Products, collections and supplied content integrated
  • Fully responsive mobile build and checkout testing
  • Handover session
