Brand and identity.

S Evans Design builds brand identities for founders and brand teams in the UK and worldwide: the mark, and the system around it that keeps everything looking like the same company. Made by one designer and delivered with guidelines, so it survives being applied by people who are not designers.

A printed brand guidelines spread showing the logo, colour and typography rules
Who it is for
  • Businesses launching and needing to look established from the first meeting
  • Companies whose logo is fine but whose everything-else is not
  • Teams applying a brand inconsistently because nobody wrote the rules down
  • Anyone whose identity falls apart the moment it leaves the original file
What you get

What it produces.

A mark that works at the size of a browser tab and the size of a banner, in full colour and in one, so nothing has to be redrawn or approximated later.

Type, colour and layout treated as a system with rules, so a poster, a deck and a phone screen read as the same company.

Image direction, so the photography and graphics do not undo the rest of it.

Guidelines and a brand pack, which is the difference between a brand that holds and one that drifts within six months.

How it is scoped

Identity work is usually quoted alongside a website, because the two agree with each other when they are made at the same time. It can be bought on its own where there is no site to build.

Every project is quoted individually. Tell me the scope and a fixed quote comes back, usually within 48 hours, and nothing starts until the price is agreed. The person you brief is the person doing the work.

Questions
Is a logo the same as a brand identity?

No. A logo is one asset. A brand identity is the system around it: type, colour, layout, image direction, and the rules that hold it together wherever it gets used. A logo on its own rarely survives contact with a website, a deck and a social feed.

Can you refresh what we have rather than start again?

Yes. Not every brand needs starting from scratch. Sometimes the mark is fine and what is missing is everything around it, which is a smaller piece of work than a full rebuild.

Do we own the files afterwards?

Yes. The identity and the files are yours.

How many rounds of changes are included?

Usually three, agreed up front. Anything beyond what was agreed is scoped and priced before it happens.
